SANTA YNEZ VALLEY

A short scenic 40 minute drive north from Santa Barbara, the Santa Ynez Valley is a picturesque valley framed by the majestic Santa Ynez mountains to the south and the San Rafael Mountains to the north. The beautiful rolling hillsides of the valley are dotted with majestic live oaks, horse and cattle ranches and over 75 world-class wineries. Each is known for their genuine old-world hospitality and friendliness; each offering distinctive character and amenities. Each melded by the area’s rich multi-cultural heritage of Native Americans, Spanish, Mexican and Danish descendants.

The Santa Ynez Valley produces would-class wines-Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah to name a few. Tasting rooms and tours are available throughout the area, as well as first-class restaurants and quaint Inns.

With its sunny skies and warm year round temperatures, the valley offers a variety of opportunities for local residents that include wine tasting, golfing, biking, hiking, and horseback riding on the hundreds of miles of open trails. Fishing and boating can be enjoyed at nearby Lake Cachuma. The Chumash Casino offers year-round Vegas style gaming and an array of indoor entertainment and night life.
